SERVE

Together we are stronger and we can achieve more with the collaboration and help of every partner and friend than we are working alone. This pandemic has become a common challenge and a common challenge requires a collective response. The Past Prefects’ Association of Zahira College would like to present our new initiative ‘SERVE’ to sustain & rebuild the economies and strengthen the workforce as we face the COVID-19 pandemic together.
 
SERVE stands for Socially Evolve Rebuild Viable Economy.

SUPER 16

The 15th edition of Zahira Super 16 Soccer 7’s was held on the leap day 29th February 2020 at Racecourse International Grounds, Colombo 7. St. Joseph’s College, Colombo became the Champions by clinching the SUPER 16 CUP by beating Gateway College in the Cup Final in one and only goal favor of 1 – nil.

Zahira College Teacher Recognition Ceremony & Annual Dinner was held recently at Eagles’ Lakeside, Attidiya. The event was graced by Guest of Honor, Mr. Gisthy Fawmy, Chairman BOG Mr. Fouzul Hameed and Members of Board of Governors, College Principal, Mr.Trizviiy Marikkar, Senior Management, Academic & Non-Academic Staff, Distinguished Invitees and Old Boys. The Teacher Recognition Ceremony conducted in collaboration with Board of Governors together with Old Boys’ Association, Parents Teachers’ Association and Past Prefects’ Association. On this day, over 271 teachers were recognized for their performance with Awards, Cash rewards and Gifts. The Gala event was filled with Entertainment, Raffle Draw and Fellowship. Organizing Committee led by Ramzeen Slamath with the representatives of College, OBA, PTA & PPA.

 

PPA Get Together 2019 was held on 1st September 2019 at Sport world. Board of Prefects 2012 merged as The Overall Champions. The Exco Vs Past Prefects’ Association Presidents exhibition match conducted this year for the first time and Exco Team won the match by 3 : 1. The Project was Chaired by Muzni Munas and well supported by President Razmi Rafeek and team PPA.

 

 

The 14th edition of Zahira Super 16 Soccer 7’s football tournament was held on 21st October 2018 at Racecourse Grounds. Zahira College Colombo emerged as The Champions by beating Gampola Zahira by 2 : 1. Mr. Anura De Silva President of the Football Federation of Sri Lanka graced the opening ceremony as the Chief Guest and Main Sponsor Cool-Planet CEO Mr. Rizvi Thaha was the Chief Guest for the evening session. Zahira College Principal Mr. Trizviiy Marikar, Members of Board of Governors and many distinguished invitees attended for the final session. All the winners awarded by Trophies, Medals and Cash Prizes. The Organizers Past Prefects Association (PPA) conducted this year’s tournament for the first time at Racecourse International Stadium. Also the under 12 competition was an inaugural tournament for 2018. The Project was Chaired by Afzar Arham and well supported by President MSM Shameek and team PPA.

 

 

SNS ‘Support Needy Students’ is a project initiated by the PPA for the last decade in the aim of providing scholarships to the students referend by the college administration.

The Past Prefects’ Association of Zahira College had their “PPA Annual Dinner 2016 & Teachers Recognition Ceremony” on Sunday 24th April 2016 at Hotel Galadari. The event was attended by distinguished guests Mr. Gisthy Fawmy (Managing Director of P M Mohamed Ali & Co.), Prof. Dr. Fazly Nizar and Mr. Rizmi Reyal (CEO of The Traveller). Also, Chairman Board of Governors Mr. Fouzul Hameed and Principal of Zahira College Mr. Trizviiy Marikkar, Mr. Anura De Silva (FFSL President) graced the occasion.
